Bush the faithful

This NYT magazine feature strikes at the heart of what irks me about Bush. He believes so strongly in his god that his every decision is being channelled by a higher power. Nevermind what reason or reality or even common sense might say about a situation. If his instinct (meaning his faith) tells him to go one way then that's the way he's going, no ifs, ands or buts.

What's ironic is that the terrorists pledge much the same approach - an "us vs. them" mentality guided by extreme faith in one's god. How many times in history does there have to be religion-driven injustice from an empire or empire-like entity against a lesser people/culture? The current administration's ideological stance seems to be no different.
